RYAN Fallowfield has provided an update to supporters on his head injury.
The York City right-back suffered a knock to the head in the 31st minute of the Minstermen’s 2-2 draw with FC Halifax Town, which saw play stopped for nine minutes.
The collision came after an accidental knee from Luca Thomas appeared to clash with Fallowfield, who was eventually removed from the field on a stretcher.
Manager Adam Hinshelwood confirmed that Fallowfield had been unconscious following the collision, but had regained consciousness by half-time, and had travelled to hospital following the match.
Fallowfield has now opened up on the injury and provided the update, saying on his Instagram story: “I just wanted to thank supporters and everyone else for the messages of support and concern, I’m all good now.
“Also a massive thankyou to all the medical staff at the club for helping me, something that may go unnoticed but without them we wouldn’t get the care we need and as quickly as we do.”
Hinshelwood has commented after the match: “We’ve got Ryan, he’s conscious. As he’s gone down, he’s just caught Luca Thomas’ knee and had a big cut on the side of his head.
“He was unconscious for a bit, so we were just making sure that he’s conscious.
“That was the message at half-time, to do it for our teammate.
“He’s an unbelievable lad and an unbelievable character. We’re glad that Cal [Howe] managed to salvage a point late in the game.
“All of our thoughts are with him now in making sure that he’s okay.”
