Liverpool have taken a help leap towards winning the Premier League title during an action-packed weekend.
Mohamed Salah scored one and assisted another as the Reds ran out 2-0 winners at soon-to-be-dethroned champions Manchester City, to move them a remarkable 11 points clear of Arsenal in second place.
Such a gap was barely thinkable on Wednesday when Liverpool had dropped points for the second time in four days, being held to a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa. But Arsenal then passed up the opportunity to close to gap to five points by losing at home to West Ham.
Elsewhere this weekend, the race for the European spots was blown wide open as Chelsea lost at Aston Villa, Bournemouth went down 1-0 to Wolves and Newcastle claimed a remarkable 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham made it three wins on the spin with a commanding 4-1 victory at Ipswich, while Crystal Palace earned an eye-catching 2-0 win at Fulham.
