Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given the Gunners a "generous" 20 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title.
Arsenal were handed a golden opportunity to close the gap on Liverpool, having seen the table-toppers drop four points across three games, but lost at home to West Ham on Saturday.
They could then only sit and watch as Mohamed Salah scored one and assisted another as Liverpool won 2-0 at currently champions Manchester City.
The result moved Liverpool 11 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, having played one more game, and Wenger had admitted his hopes of a Gunners title are dwindling.
Speaking on beIN SPORTS at half-time of the game at the Etihad, Wenger said: "If Liverpool win today then you could say it’s 80% [likely they win the title].”
Quizzed on Arsenal’s chances, Wenger added: “You have to keep hope! [Arsenal have] a 20% chance. Maybe I’m being generous...
“But with 11 games to go, 11 points ahead and one more game played, of course, you would be surprised.
"If Liverpool win today they’ve lost only game since the start of the season and you wouldn’t think they would lose four games in the last 11."
