David Moyes and Ruben Amorim are in disagreement over the late controversy during the Everton vs Manchester United clash.

Man Utd trailed 2-0 at the break as the in-form Beto put Everton ahead before Abdoulaye Doucoure - back after suspension - doubled the lead following some poor defending from the visitors.

However, the Red Devils hit back in the second half with Bruno Fernandes halving the deficit with a brilliant free-kick before he helped to create the equaliser scored by Manuel Ugarte.

There was still time for some drama right at the death as Everton thought they had the chance to secure all three points in injury time.

After Andre Onana had pushed Idrissa Gueye’s shot back into a dangerous area, Ashley Young went down in the box under pressure from both Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt as he tried to get to the rebound.

Referee Andy Madley did not hesitate and pointed to the penalty spot, but following an on-field VAR review, the official overturned his decision and with that, Man United left Goodison Park with a point.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Amorim delivered his verdict on the initial decision: "I think it was a soft touch from what I saw. I think it was a soft penalty, it was clear."

Although, Moyes didn’t share the same opinion: "I've had a look at it and I think undoubtedly he [Maguire] pulls his [Young] jersey and I think after that you have to make your own mind up.

"I thought the on-field decision looked the correct decision, I'm a bit surprised he was asked to go to far because I thought it looked difficult to change your mind on that.

"I think when they go to VAR, you very rarely get them to change their mind, it's as if they think that the people seeing it on the telly see much more and understand more.

"Anyway it went against us today, we're not going to complain too much about it but that decision just didn't go for us."
