East Lancashire swimmers are being encouraged to participate in Swimathon 2025.
This annual fundraising event, the 'world's largest of its kind', will take place across the county from March 28 to March 30.
The pools included are Darwen Leisure Centre, Padiham Leisure Centre, and St Peter’s Leisure Centre in Burnley.
Swimmers of all abilities and ages are invited to participate and help raise funds for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and the Swimathon Foundation.
The event offers a variety of individual challenges ranging from 400m to a Triple 5k, or teams of two to five people can participate in a 1.5k or 5k relay.
For those unable to attend the main event, the MySwimathon initiative allows participants to choose their distance, time, and venue between March 21 and April 6.
Swimathon president and Olympic gold medallist, Duncan Goodhew MBE, said: "Every year at Swimathon I meet incredible people with incredible stories; those who are swimming for the first time, those that are swimming in memory of a loved one, those that are swimming unimaginable distances, those that are recovering from cancer, or those that are facing a terminal illness - and I know this year will be no different.
"Everyone has their own story and everyone can set their own Swimathon challenge.
"You just have to be you; whatever your ability, whatever your age, whatever your drive."
Since its inception in 1986, Swimathon has seen more than 750,000 participants and has raised more than £55 million for various charities.
Cancer Research UK spokesperson for the North West, Jemma Humphreys, said: "Swimathon is such a great way to encourage people to dip their toe in the water and get swimming.
"It really doesn’t matter if you’re not the fittest or the fastest, because there’s no greater motivation for taking part than helping to support causes that are close to the hearts of so many."
Five or 10-week training plans for all challenges are available on the Swimathon website.
